Taylor’s University – Bachelor of Science (Hons) Actuarial Studies


Pre-university programmes that bridge the gap between secondary school and university, and prepare students for university.


Offered by the Taylor’s Business School, the Actuarial Studies programme is the extensive study of mathematics, probability, statistics, finance and economics. The programme provides learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Accreditation and/or Exemptions: The programme has been accredited by Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Flexible Learning: Students also have the option to transfer to another Taylor’s Business programme during their course. Credits gained during their enrolment in Actuarial Studies will be credited to their new programme. Students will be able to take electives from other business programmes as well.
Long Internship: Offered in the third year of the 4-year programme, students have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and gain industry exposure that will help them excel in their final year of studies.
Internship with Renowned Companies: Students have the opportunity to apply classroom lessons and gain industry experience from top companies.

Entry Requirements

SPM/O Level Pass SPM/O-level or equivalent with 5 credits including Mathematics and a pass in Englsih for entry with pre-university /foundation qualification. Pass SPM/O-level or equivalent with 3 credits including Mathematics and a pass in Englsih for entry with Diploma qualification.
Pre-university qualifications SAM/SACE International: ATAR 60, A Levels: EE or equivalent of min 80 pts, CPU: Min average of 60% in 6 subjects, STPM: CC min CGPA 2.0, UEC: A Pass in UEC with min 5Bs, Taylor's Foundation/Diploma: Pass any Taylor's Foundation/ Diploma programme with min CGPA 2.00, IB: 24 pts and above for 6 subjects, MUFY: 255/400, Other: Pass Business Foundation from any other HEIHSC (Yr 12), New South Wales with min. average 60% in 5 subjects, Pass MOHE Matriculation with min. CGPA 2.00, Pass Foundation (in other field) from other institutions recognised by MoHE, Pass DIB or Diploma in other field from other institutions recognised by MoHE, Other equivalent qualification recognised by Malaysian Government.
English qualifications IELTS Overall: Band 5.0, TOEFL: iBT 34, MUET: Band 3, UEC: English B6, Taylor's EET: Overall score 5.0, Taylor’s IEN: Level 2 – Grade C, Completed Pre-U/Diploma that was conducted in English.
