Master of Arts (MA)

Background One of the oldest forms of postgraduate programmes, the MA equips students with qualifications that allow them to teach subjects in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Academic pathway Overview: As the name suggests, a student becomes a ‘Master’ of the programme they are studying. An MA is highly regarded in the academic world as it displays expertise and training in a particular subject.

Assessment Method(s): In an MA programme, students are required to study a series of ‘modules’ or ‘units’. Each unit will focus on a different subject and is taught through lectures, seminars and workshops. Students will be awarded an MA when they successfully complete a final dissertation project.

Duration: One to two years.

* All fees are subject to change.
